Clinic today went well, it was a quick finger stick. Hannah's counts were ok, but her white counts were down quite a bit from last month, the reds remain stable. The doctor said it's common for the whites to fluctuate, I'm going to look into natural supplements to help boost her immune system.

For the first time since Friday, her foot felt a bit better today. She is able to walk on it now (figures since we went in today for a check up). We had a foot xray, which showed no obvious breaks, but this type of xray may miss any small hairline fractures. Thus, he wrote a script for a dexa scan-which will measure her bone density. I hope to get this scheduled for next week. They also did a bone age xray-just a simple xray, it's meant to show the age of her bones by looking at her growth plates. We hope it shows that she has a "young" bone age-which would allow more time for growth. She needs this extra time due to the radiation and other treatments she had which are expected to stunt her spinal growth (which we're already seeing). We should get the results tomorrow or the next day.

Hannah delivered over 2 dozen hats today to clinic-perfect for protection for those little bald heads in the summer sun. They were very happy to get them. We got to see some of our old friends today-Kaitlyn and Alexa, both with leukemia and both doing well right now, thank goodness. It was nice to see an old face, in the midst of so many new ones. Sitting there waiting today just reminded me of how awful it was back then. When the little kids would have their names called, some of them immediately started screaming and crying "NO, NO, please NO." The parents would try to soothe them, but still have to take them in to get accessed just the same. It broke my heart.

A few more pictures to end tonight, where are all the kids???

Hi guys,

Glad you all had a good time and were able to weather the rain, the ER visits, the hurt foot, etc. It looks like you all had quite a bit of fun after seeing the photos. I think the funniest one is of Dave growling in the wild animal cage with the other grown ups. Very funny!

Glad you are all back, safe and sound and hopefully you're all swimming a lot in your pool........... this humidity stinks, doesn't it?!

Take care and hope to see you all soon.

Love Mrs. Purick and Jessica

Looks like you guys had a ton of fun! I am so glad to hear that. I hope the rest of the summer is pain and injury free:-)
I am already dreading the next school year. I don't know what I am going to do with Kasey this year. He will get brushed up a bit on his studies from last year, but I know he won't be interested in it in the least if it interferes with summer fun too. Kasey has clinic and chemo today, he is meeting his chemo pal. I am hoping that it gives him something to look forward too about chemo days for a while.
Off and running... Have a great day!

We have been in and out of town over the past few weeks, and we haven't been able to check in. The Disney pictures look like you all had a GREAT time. It makes the trip so much more fun with cousins and aunts and grandpas and grandmas!! The big news is we finally got those checks in the mail for Hannah's Cans for Cancer!!! We are so excited to see the great things that Hannah will do with all the money that was raised.
We are happy you had fun on your trip. How is your pool?!?

Dear Prokop Family,
We are happy that the Disney Trip went well, except for a few "bumps in the road". The pictures we have seen are wonderful...lots of smiling faces. Thanks for sharing them.

With this terrible heat, we hope that everyone (even Riley), is keeping cool in the pool.

We have learned that Senator Ted Kennedy is going to the Proton Center at the Mass General every day now for his eight weeks of treatment. Also, we're told, he is always wearing a Red Sox hat, probably for good luck (just like the "Man from Boston") We are guessing that no Yankees hats have been seen in the waiting room since Hannah Prokop finished her visits there. Boy, Hannah, thinking about it, you had some nerve wearing that Yankees hat in "Red Sox Nation".
With Our Love,
The Griffins
